Second EgyptAir black box found in the Mediterranean
Both black boxes from EgyptAir Flight MS804 have now been recovered from the Mediterranean.
Egyptian investigators confirmed today that the flight data recorder has been retrieved, just a day after the cockpit voice recorder was salvaged.
Egyptian investigators say the data recorder had to be retrieved in pieces.
The voice recorder also had to be salvaged in different stages, but investigators said the memory unit, considering the most important part, is intact.
They will now be taken to Alexandria to be examined.
It is hoped the information contained will provide answers about what happened to the aircraft.
The Airbus A320, on its way from Paris to Cairo, crashed into the Mediterranean shortly after entering Egyptian air space.
All 66 people on board were killed.
