Sign up for seminar on crisis management
Four crisis management specialists are joining up to run a seminar for the travel industry about how to cope with emergencies.
The event, hosted by travel law firm, Gates and Partners, will take place at its London offices on the morning of 28 June 2012.
"In an industry that has seen more than its fair share of disruptions, whether caused by natural disasters, human error, terrorist attacks, accidents or criminals targeting customers and staff, the need for companies to plan for the unexpected has never been greater," said a spokesman for the event.
The seminar will be delivered by four specialists in their fields:
– Joanna Kolatsis, Gates and Partners, will cover criminalisation and directors’/officers’ personal liability
– Steven Thompson, red24, will provide an update on travelling safely for staff and customers, risk assessments and an update on current risks in specific regions
– Karen Ramirez, industry sector lead for travel in the Cross Sector Safety & Security Communications Hub, will advise on business continuity and emergency preparedness in the lead-up to this year’s Games
– Angela Hills, ABTA, will provide an overview of the tools, information and support available from ABTA
Ramirez said: "If a crisis happens it’s vital that companies already have a grasp of what actions should be taken to safeguard and assist customers and staff, ensure that there is an effective communications system in place and just as importantly, can still carry on with the day job."
