So different: Sofitel close to Singapore launch
Sofitel So Singapore will open May 31 in a 1927 heritage-listed building with a unique concept which hotel operator Accor believes will woo new fans to the boutique luxury brand.
"Every Sofitel So starts from scratch and no two are alike," says general manager Tony Chisholm.
Guest rooms at the 134-room Robinson Road property have been designed to reflect Parisian apartments. They range in size from 90sqm So VIP suites to 24sqm So Cosy rooms. All rooms have 3m high ceilings.
"Every aspect of the hotel has been created just for us," Chisholm said. These include elements of the hotel designed by Karl Lagerfeld.
Suites will have their own expanded mini bars, encouraging guests to entertain friends for cocktails.
The Xperience restaurant will be under the control of executive chef Anne-Cecile Degenne, previously of the Sofitel Manila and the Eden Rock Hotel St Barths.
Chisholm said with 35 wines by the glass and a choice of small, medium or large serves, diners will be encouraged to share plates and sample different wines with their food.
Visiting Michelin-starred chefs will make guest appearances at various times.
Accor will also announce this week new branding for the Singapore Resort and Spa Sentosa, where a major renovation programme is being undertaken.
