Southwest Airlines orders more Max jets
Southwest Airlines has boosted its existing Boeing Max order with 34 more planes. It is exercising an option to increase the orders for the Max 7, taking the total number of planes on order to 234.
The airline says it is seeing ‘modest, consistent improvements in business passenger demand’ while leisure travel demand continues to grow.
It expects near-term operating revenue at about 20% below pre-pandemic levels and expects to break even this month.
