Spain to end outdoor mask mandate

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Snchez said the government plans to end the mandatory wearing of masks outdoors across the country from 26 June. It is subject to extraordinary Cabinet meeting later this week when it is likely to be ratified.
Masks will still be required when a safe distance of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained. Spain has strict mask rules in place for everyone aged six and over, although there have been calls from health experts to end the mask mandate for some time.
