Spirit Airlines announces executive appointments

Budget carrier Spirit Airlines has beefed up its leadership team with two new appointments.
Matt Klein has joined Spirit as the senior vice president and chief commercial officer effective from today, August 11.
Klein will head up revenue and marketing strategy, and oversee the network planning, revenue management and consumer marketing functions.
He has gained more than 20 years’ experience in the airline and travel sectors including pricing management positions at AirTran and US Airways, and as vice president, global airline relations at Travelocity.
Spirit also announced Rocky Wiggins joins as senior vice president and chief information officer next month.
Wiggins will lead IT strategy and operations and brings 35 years of experience in travel tech.
He held equivalent CIO positions at several airlines including Canadian carrier WestJet, Sun Country Airlines and AirTran.
