SPTO appoints new CEO

Fiji born Tony Everitt has been appointed to the role CEO of the South Pacific Tourism Organisation and will be based in the organisations Fiji offices.

Tony who has taken spent thirteen years with Tourism New Zealand in three executive positions, managing NZ’s Japan activities from offices in Tokyo and Osaka and leading the global marketing operations for two years from the head office in Wellington said, “I am pleased to be back in the Pacific and I look forward to working with the people in developing the fantastic tourism resources of the region”.

He added, “I am very excited by the possibilities for South Pacific Tourism and there is value in building the profile of ‘South Pacific’ in our major tourism markets as we compete with regions like Caribbean, Mediterranean and South East Asia.”
