Strike action could upend Christmas flights at Edinburgh airport
Union Unite is warning of potential flight disruption at Edinburgh airport during the festive season.
It says tanker drivers employed by North Air, which supplies fuel to airlines, could take strike action this month.
The company provides refuelling services for airlines.
The dispute is over pay after a 4.5% offer was rejected.
Unite says its members have overwhelmingly backed strike action in spite of ACAS conciliation talks.
No improved offer has been forthcoming, Unite says.
The union says it has ‘no option’ but to issue strike dates if an improved offer isn’t quickly received.
This could include peak festive season flights.
North Air is the only fuel supply company at Edinburgh airport.
Sharon Graham, Unite general secretary said: “North Air is a profitable company and there is no excuse for not making an improved pay offer.”
