Strike disruption for Greece

Wednesday, 3 February 20163 min read

The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office has warned of possible disruption in Greece on Thursday and Friday due to strike action.

Trade unions have called a general strike which could severely hit public services, including hospitals, pharmacies, trains, the Athens metro and buses.

"Farmers continue to block a number of roads across Greece. There will be no ferry services on 4 and 5 February," it said.

"Domestic flights within Greece may be subject to cancellation or delay, however, flights to and from Greece are not expected to be affected."

Travellers are advised to contact their airline, ferry company or tour operator for further advice if they intend to travel during the strike period.
