Summer travel is all about the bargain
Finding affordable summer travel options is as easy as it gets. No matter where you look or what it is you are looking for, rest assured it’s on sale this summer. So, jump in while you can or before your suntanned, well rested, non-frugal friends say, "I told you so." Get in while the getting is good. This will not last forever. So, do your part to stimulate the economy and your travel soul.
For east coasters, Aan early booking program was created by the New Jersey Division of Travel & Tourism that provides discounts at the state’s hotels. Visitors making a reservation by Memorial Day for a stay between June and August 2009 will receive 15% off the room rate at participating hotels.
The Early Booking promotion features a variety of resorts, hotels and bed & breakfast inns, with properties being added throughout the duration of the 10-week program. Consumers who text “BookNJ” to “91077” will receive a text message response linking them to a dedicated page on the State’s Tourism website (www.visitnj.org) to view the exclusive offers.
“To help time-strapped consumers book a fantastic getaway to New Jersey this summer, we’ve established an interactive text message program to provide exclusive room rates at some of the state’s top hotels. Visitors who opt-in will be the first to receive updates via their cell phone as new hotels join the discount program,” notes New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells. “This provides a convenient way to stay informed about money saving offers on summer vacation getaways.”
Vacationers interested in seaside retreats, mountain resorts and virtually anything in between will find a great selection of options for their summer getaway. Participating properties include boutique hotels in Atlantic City and Long Beach Island, picturesque bed & breakfasts in Cape May and New Egypt, historic inns in Princeton and Ocean Grove, world-class hotels in Short Hills and New Brunswick and a spa resort in Vernon.
The properties include The Hyatt Morristown, The Chalfonte Hotel in Cape May, The Majestic Hotel in Ocean Grove, The Chelsea in Atlantic City, Marquis de Lafayette in Cape May, The Beach Shack in Cape May, Minerals Hotel at Crystal Springs Resort in Vernon, Daddy O in Long Beach Island, and several others.
A complete listing of participating hotels and additional program details, as well as information on New Jersey activities and destinations, can be found on the State’s Tourism website: www.visitnj.org.
