TAT heading overseas to promote Thai low season holidays

During the low-season period after the end of the Songkran festivities, Thailand tourism leaders will go on the road for a global promotional campaign in key markets.

First stop will be to Dubai’s Arabian Travel Market early next month, said Thailand Tourism Authority acting Governor Jutaporn Rerngron-asa.

TAT will also hold roadshows in South Africa and Australia later in May.

"The campaigns in the Middle East, South Africa and Australia are designed to make up for a loss in the Russia market primarily due to the falling Ruble. Besides, we will keep the western Europe markets as our major target in addition to the China and ASEAN markets," Jutaporn said.

Low season in Thailand’s tourism starts from May until September when tourism traditionally drops off before picking up again in October until April.

Jutaporn also said TAT would focus on promoting Thailand for honeymoons and destination weddings.
