The first Travel Technology Exhibition attracted 45% more visitors than anticipated and 68% of exhibitors have already booked space at next year’s event, according to the organisers. Event director David Chapple said 2,186 senior commercial and IT management attended the two-day event, almost 700 more than the 76 exhibitors had been promised. ‘I am delighted that we were able to exceed exhibitors expectations and deliver them with a very high quality audience”, he said. “Data from the visitor ticket showed that visitors were appraising which suppliers were to receive a slice of their £235million worth of technology investment over the next 12 months, 91.4% of the audience either influenced or made the decision when choosing a technology supplier and 47% said they attended the event to find a new technology partner”. He said organisers expected the show to grow next year, attracting more exhibitors. “There is no better endorsement of an event than the willingness of current exhibitors to commit to exhibiting 12 months in advance” said Chapple.” With this years success behind us I am confident we can attract a broader cross-section of technology suppliers for visitors to appraise”. The Travel Technology Show 2005 will be held at Olympia in London on February 1 and 2. The event will again run alongside the Business Travel Show.
