ABTA Convention special report: Thomson has made GBP250,000 from the sale of overseas properties though its shops since tieing up a deal with Parador Properties in May.

The operator’s shops have so far sold 50 properties. The average sale of a house or villa is around GBP 150,000 and the shops make around GBP5,000 commission on each sale.

Most sales have been in Spain, Portugal and Cyprus and Thomson will expand its offering to sell properties in Turkey.

Sales and marketing director Miles Morgan said: “It’s been a great success for us. We’ll be investing in it in the future to grow it further.”
