Thomson website improves hotel video access

Friday, 01 Mar, 2007 0

Thomson plans to launch new technology on its main website enabling visitors to view high quality hotel videos.

About 250 properties from the portfolio have been selected to use the technology, which enables holidaymakers to view videos even if they only have very low bandwidth available to them.

In January the operator 1.5 million video clips were watched on the main website, www.thomsonholidays.co.uk.

However, the operator believes it receives well over two million views a month taking into account the clips downloaded from Google Video.

The top five videos viewed in January were the Red Sea, Tunisia, Majorca, Algarve and Cyprus.
