Tour bus crash kills one in Malaysia
A Malaysian tour bus steward has died and 10 Singaporean tourists were injured after a high-speed collision on a Malaysia highway.
The bus, carrying 12 passengers from Singapore, was on its way back to Singapore from the Genting Highlands resort in Malaysia when it slammed into a truck on the Karak-Kuala Lumpur Expressway.
Bus company steward Carles Lagan, 26, died and the two bus drivers and the truck driver were also injured.
That left just two occupants of the bus not requiring medical attention.
The cause of the accident is being investigated, and one passenger complained it was being driven too fast.
"After boarding the bus, I was not able to sleep because the bus was being driven at high speed. Suddenly I heard a loud crash, and everybody fell off their seat," said Yip Keng Yim.
Just hours earlier, another crash in the same area injured 23 people, including 16 Chinese tourists when their tour bus collided with a car.
