Trainline increases business travel share
Business Travel Show London 2005: The Trainline has posted record corporate business wins already for 2005.
The UK rail ticket retailer claims to have over 350 corporate clients, including recent signings from mobile phone company Orange, outsource service provider Jarvis, and the Ministry of Defence.
The deals include setting up co-branded intranet sites that enable company employees to book rail tickets as well as offering account management services and consultancy.
TheTrainline offers access to timetables, fares and reservations and supplies 10% of rail tickets sold in the UK. The company is owned by the Virgin Group and National Express Group plc, and subsidiaries include Qjump Ltd and Trainline Short Breaks Ltd.
TheTrainline director of sales, Adrian Watts, said: “This success is due to the fact that customers can capitalise on the significant savings associated with online bookings. Over the last year we have significantly grown our share in the business travel market and this has meant that we have been able to develop new products, make further investment and has put us in a position for continued growth and expansion for 2005.”
