Travel groups call for scrapping US Covid entry tests
Trade groups including the U.S. Travel Association are calling for the scrapping of pre-departure Covid testing. They ‘urgently’ request the removal of testing as the benefit is ‘negligible ‘and it will ‘definitely increase travel,’
They sent a letter to White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Jeffrey Zients seeking a testing exemption for fully-jabbed travelers. Testing has been required since January 2021. The letter also cited recent research that testing and other travel curbs likely have ‘none or very limited impact ‘on local transmission.
