Travel Network Group to launch TV show
The Travel Network Group is to launch a regular TV travel show, which is expected to attract one million viewers a day across the UK.
Following a deal with Ideal World, it will launch Worldchoice TV with six eight-minute programmes featuring summer sun, coach, UK, long-stay, escorted tours and long-haul holidays.
The first live show will be aired on Thursday November 14 and programmes will run until June next year.
Each show will be repeated every day following the live show, giving it a total of 60 minutes on air each day.
A number of Worldchoice members will feature in the programmes, which will be hosted by shopping channel presenter Roger Mallock.
Si Prentice, The Travel Network Group marketing director, said: "We are chartering new territory with this deal will Ideal World.
"They have featured cruise before but this is the first time they will run a travel programme featuring mainstream travel.
"We’ve already had great feedback from Worldchoice members about this planned activity and a number of them have already expressed an interest in featuring in the programmes."
Group managing director Gary Lewis added: "We made a commitment to our members at our last conference to invest in the further development of the Worldchoice brand as part of our progressive marketing strategy.
"This is just one of the activities we will be rolling out to underpin this direction and further build the profile of this retail travel brand with consumers."
Business partners will feature highly in each programme and have the opportunity to show case their products and services. Lewis said members would be selected based on their commitment to the brand and training.
"This is part of a whole range of initiative to re-energise the Worldchoice brand," he said.
The Group is currently in talks with a number of partners to provide exclusive deals for Worldchoice TV.
Calls from viewers will be channelled through to Worldchoice member Premier Holidays, who will handle the booking process.
Viewers will also be able to access the deals that have been featured on the programme at its website worldchoicetravel.co.uk.
Ideal World TV airs on all digital TV platforms including Virgin, Free view, Freesat and Sky.
