UNEP to host WTM workshop on sustainability

During WTM’s Environment Awareness Day, The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is hosting a workshop addressing ‘Sustainability through the eyes of the consumers, the destinations and the industry’.

The event will be held in the City Side Room 1-7, 1.30-2.30pm on Wednesday 13 November.

John Elkington, Chair of SustainAbility, Mike Longhurst, Vice-President of McCann-Erickson, Jean Holder, Secretary General of the Caribbean Tourism Organization on the Caribbean and Dermot Blastland Managing Director of First Choice will present what the consumers want, what the industry leaders are doing, what are the destinations needs and responses.

Jacqueline Aloisi de Larderel, Assistant Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, will open the meeting on behalf of UNEP and the Tour Operators’ Initiative.
