US managers support security measures
Most corporate travel managers in the US are supportive of the new security initiatives implemented by the Transportation Security Administration, according to a new survey.
The study of 200 corporate travel managers conducted by the National Business Travel Administration found 70% of respondents approved or partially approved of the government’s handling of airport security.
When asked what government initiatives would dramatically improve the nation’s aviation system, some 50% suggested instituting a “trusted traveller” programme.
Meanwhile, 41% said the government should not allow delays in the installation of explosive-detection equipment.
Some 68% of respondents said they would implement more conference calls if security processes impede travellers.
Some 55% said they would increase their use of the Internet and 40% said they would recommend reducing out-of-town meetings.
