What the heck is going on with air bridges?
Holidays within the UK will be possible again from July 4 and with many overseas destinations re-opening their borders to the British there’s a lot of excited talk about foreign travel resuming as early as next month.
Tui plans to resume a skeleton programme from July 11 and Jet2 will follow on July 15 but…there’s still a big but.
With the Foreign Office continuing to advise against all non-essential overseas travel, packages can’t go ahead. And even if they do, holidaymakers might still have to quarantine when they return home.
What about air bridges, you say? Yes, there’s been much speculation in the media that the government would announce quarantine-free travel between certain low-risk countries this month.
It hasn’t. Not yet.
