What’s the future for traditional tour operators? Flybe joins the debate
Flybe has been confirmed as a participant in TravelMole’s next Travel Industry Question Time
The low csot airline’s head of sales Stephen Hobday is to be involved in the debate on October 19.
He will join Cosmos sales director Andy Washington and Sunvil Holidays’ Noel Josephides, who is to represent the Association of Independent Tour Operators.
The Travel Industry Question Time will tackle the question – Is the traditional tour operator the dinosaur of the travel industry?
The latest in TravelMole’s topical industry debates is to be held in London on October 19 between 16.30-18.30 (venue to be confirmed next week).
The discussion, to be moderated by travel industry journalist and commentator Jeremy Skidmore, follows what many in the trade have described as the worst summer in 15 years.
The seemingly unstoppable growth of dynamic packaging booked online via the internet and the dramatic rise in no-frills flights to mainstream holiday destinations has compounded the woes of traditional tour operators.
So, do they have a future or is the model cracked beyond repair?
TravelMole is gathering together a group of top-level industry speakers from across the sector to enter the discussion on October 19.
