Worldspan promotes Bainton

Worldspan has appointed Niel Bainton to vice president of Strategy and New Business Development.

Bainton’s responsibilities will include directing the company’s interactive television project and co-ordinating the development of Worldspan Travel Button, the company’s online lesiure travel planning. He will report to Charlie Sullivan, senior vice president.

Bainton worked on the marketing team for MP3Radio.com before joining Worldspan in 2000.

Other news from Worldspan includes the company’s recent announcement that it has been selected by Canadian no-frills airline, ZIP as its preferred GDS. The carrier will launch on 22 September, operating domestic flights with six Boeing 737-200 aircraft.
